Transport Canada Invites Your Feedback on Final Report of the National Supply Chain Task Force
In March 2022, the Minister of Transport Canada announced the creation of an independent National Supply Chain Task Force with a mandate to examine the key pressures affecting Canada’s supply chain operations. The Task Force committed to providing advice and recommendations to the federal government regarding actions that could be taken by all levels of government and industry with the objectives of increasing competition, access, reliability, resiliency, efficiency and investment in the national transportation system and supply chain.
As you may already be aware, the Final Report of the National Supply Chain Task Force was delivered to the Minister of Transport on October 6. Some of the recommended actions in the report include: easing port congestion; addressing labour shortage and employee retention; establishing a Supply Chain Office; protecting corridors, border crossings and gateways from disruption; and developing a National Supply Chain Strategy.
This report is the product of extensive consultations and engagements with a broad range of stakeholders, business leaders and transportation industry experts across Canada. Transport Canada understands that supply chain issues have wide-ranging impacts and invites you to share your views on the issues raised in the report.
