CPTPP and Malaysia Ratification
Malaysia ratified the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for the Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) on Friday, September 30, 2022, becoming the ninth out of eleven countries to ratify the agreement. The CPTPP will enter into force on November 29, 2022.
Canada will be making an Order in Council to extend the CPTPP tariff treatment to Malaysia. Finance Canada has confirmed the process and further details will follow shortly.
