ITACS Not Always Receiving Arrival Information for ACE Entries with FDA Data
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a reminder to the trade that the agency is not receiving arrival information for all ACE entries with FDA data.
FDA’s Import Trade Auxiliary Communication System (ITACS) displays the message “FDA entry status information is not available pending receipt of Conveyance Arrival Notification” for truck and air shipments until the electronic arrival notification is received. However, this message is currently being displayed in ITACS for some truck and air shipments filed in ACE, even after the goods have physically arrived.
Receipt of this message does not affect the user’s ability to upload documents or to submit line availability information via ITACS; nor does it affect FDA’s ability to review the entry.
FDA has advised Customs and Border Protection (CBP) of the recent increase in occurrences of this issue for further investigation.
FDA is telling customs brokers/filers to rely on ACE messaging for status information. FDA indicates that other parties associated with the entry, including importers, logistics partners, etc. should contact the broker/filer for status information.
