Canada's Best Managed
Farrow is Recognized, for the Eleventh Year, as Canada’s Best Managed Companies for 2020, as well as awarded the Platinum Club status.
Farrow’s desire to give back to the communities in which we live and work has been the core of our corporate culture for over 100 years. We regularly support a range of community activities such as donations, sponsorships, and employee volunteering. To encourage this, we provide all employees across Canada and the U.S. up to two (2) paid community caring days to volunteer with agencies in their local community. This process is facilitated through our user-friendly online volunteer portal, which streamlines the process for our employees and allows them to find local charitable events in their community.
Company-sponsored benefits and opportunities include the following:
Since January of 2016, Farrow has donated $50,000 to the Rotary Club of Windsor (1918) to assist with the development of two projects in the Jirapa District in northeastern Ghana, including drilling boreholes to provide potable water to the three villages of Gyan, Tampie, and Guor, and funding three Women’s Co-Operative Groups in Guor, Tankuri, and Achagyir.
Since 2008, the Farrow family has been proud to continue its tradition of holiday season donations to food banks and not-for-profit organizations across North America. To date, Farrow has donated over $400,000 and in 2021, Farrow donated to eleven Canadian food banks and four American food banks.
In 2018, CEO & Chairman Rick Farrow contributed $500,000 towards the construction of Farrow Riverside Miracle Park in Windsor, Ontario. The park is designed specifically for those with accessibility needs and include a Miracle Field baseball diamond, washrooms, a swimming pool, playground, and a wellness exercise path.
United Way and Centraide Windsor-Essex County launched Backpacks for Success; a program that provides local K–12 students with backpacks filled with back-to-school supplies, which helps improve classroom participation, attendance and student morale. Farrow and its employees have been longtime United Way supporters and were among the first to help them launch Backpacks for Success.
